Lista de ejemplos de Serious Games (en general) (phd-tesis) / List of examples of Serious Games (in general)

¡Hola a tod@s!

“The simplest definition of serious games, then, is games that do not have entertainment, enjoyment, or fun as their primary purpose. That isn’t to say that the games under the serious games umbrella aren’t entertaining, enjoyable, or fun. It’s just that there is another purpose, an ulterior motive in a very real sense” (Michael y Chen, 2006, p. 21).**

A lo que se añade también:

“Thus serious games are games that use the artistic medium of games to deliver a message, teach a lesson, or provide an experience” (Michael y Chen, 2006, p. 23)

Videojuegos en particular (que se pueden acceder sin pago) / Serious games in particular (that you can access to them without payment)

**Actualización a 11/2021.
***Actualización a 10/2022.
****Actualización a 10/2023.

----This text is the translation of the information above----

Hi everyone!
I am trying to elaborate a list of serious games in general. That is to say, they can be from different categories and they are not organized according to that question. In fact, there are different ways to classify serious games and any serious game can be classified in different categories (that is to say, here I am not going to speak only about serious games with educational purpose, I am going to cite different types of serious games), then, I am going to cite them as a list with their link. On one hand, I am going to cite games, and, on the other hand, webs or webs with a compilation of games. This list and this post is a little part of my doctoral dissertation and it is a part of the empirical part of my doctoral dissertation that I am going to apply the academic year 2016-2017. I post it in order the students can access this information and also any person who is interested in that topic. Also, I am going to show two lists: games that can be accessed by any people to play with them (of course in a legal way) and games that you need to pay to play (in that way, people/students can know other examples, so, as people know, the salary of a researcher in training is not enough to buy all of them for the students…). Furthermore, I hope that this list can be continually updated.
If you know other serious games, do not hesitate to let me know by email, twitter or in a comment on this post.
Finally, it is necessary to cite the definition of Serious Games by Michael and Chen (2006):

“The simplest definition of serious games, then, is games that do not have entertainment, enjoyment, or fun as their primary purpose. That isn’t to say that the games under the serious games umbrella aren’t entertaining, enjoyable, or fun. It’s just that there is another purpose, an ulterior motive in a very real sense” (Michael y Chen, 2006, p. 21).**

Also, they add the next words:

“Thus serious games are games that use the artistic medium of games to deliver a message, teach a lesson, or provide an experience” (Michael y Chen, 2006, p. 23)
